In addition to an exciting programme of papers, workshops, and posters, we have a range of social events planned for the week!
Monday 22nd: Drinks reception at Glasgow City Chambers
This event is free for delegates and begins at 6:30pm at City Chambers, which is located on George Square in the city centre.
This venue is a few minutes’ walk from Buchanan Street (on which there are two subway stations). From Buchanan Street, turn east onto either West George Street or St Vincent Place. George Square is 1-2 minutes along these roads, and City Chambers is situated at the eastern end of the square. There are also bus stops nearby, e.g. on West George Street, and Queen Street train station is just north of George Square. Please see the At the Conference page for directions from Hillhead Subway Station.

Tuesday 23rd: Conference dinner at Òran Mór
This is a paid event (£49pp, drinks excluded) and will take place at 7pm at Òran Mór, an iconic Glasgow venue at the northern end of Byres Road, in the West End.
Òran Mór is close to Hillhead subway station. When you exit the station, turn right and walk to the top of Byres Road. The venue will be on your right. Alternatively, if you are travelling to the venue from Great Western Road (for example, from Kelvinbridge subway station), follow the road along until it meets Byres Road.

Wednesday 24th: Ceilidh at Glasgow University Union
We are holding a ceilidh at the GUU (the conference venue). This is a paid event: £20pp for general admission, and £10pp for students. Tickets can be bought here.

Thursday 25th: Activities/excursions post-conference
We are arranging two activities after the conference. One is a tour of Glengoyne Distillery, and the other is a trip to the newly-reopened Burrell Collection. If you are interested in either of these activities, please contact the organisers.
